Thesis Write Up:
The theme of my thesis was Mughals architecture the offence of Mughal architecture by displaying in a variety in a setting. Mughals architecture is famous for its beauty and design. I went for this particular theme is that Mughals architecture reflects our culture tradition and heritage.
We have been given with five techniques for application out of which at least four techniques needed to be used in our thesis: the five techniques are:
1) Batik
2) Tie n die
3) Stencils
4) Block painting
5) Silk painting
I was implementation of 7 or 8 design into different products needed to decorate the Mughal drawing room. Now I will like to give the description of my designs.
Design 1:
This design was prepared for curtains and ideas and motives within it were taken from different Mughal photo collieries and data collected from other means. This design was mostly used in floor and pillow in Mughal architecture but I have applied it in a curtain which has given a different look to it. I have used maroon and fawn colour in this design. It includes the application f block painting technique.
Design 2:
This design for rug contain arches and motives in it. The colour scheme of this design is mud brown and maroon. In this design the motives has only been used in border of rug. We have applied technique number three (stencils) in this design because we have used small motives in it and stenciling is the best application for such motives.
Design 3:
This design was prepared for lamp, which formulate the shape of pillar. It contains arches, salt effect and bricks in it. The colours used in this design are: mustard, copper, golden and brown. Technique number two and five have been applied in this design which is silk painting and tie and die because when the lamp will lit up the design produce in silk painting, it will give a very eye catching and attractive look to the design.
Design 4:
This design was drawn up for sofa cushions. In this we have used different motives arranged in sequence. The colours used in this designed are: mustard, maroon and brown. The technique applied is stenciling.
Design 5:
Its design for floor cushion which contains different motives. The colour theme is white, fawn, rust and brown. We have applied a combination of two techniques in this design: block painting and stenciling.
Design 6 & 7:
these designs were applied on wall hanging which contains building, arches and motives in it. The colours used are: mustard, yellowish brown, yellow, blue and white and golden copper. In this design we used technique number 1 batik.
